My good buddy/co-worker/trusty assistant, AMY, has been prodding me to enter posts on my blog for, well, an entire year. So I'm posting this entry in her honor. If anyone else wants to play along, please do. Just copy the list &
bold the ones you've done. Unfortunately, you'll also have to delete all of the comments I have added to my list. This was fun to do, but took me a while because I've been watching "The Birdcage" at the same time. One of the funniest movies ever!

7. Been to Disneyland (my 1st visit was the year they opened, I think it was in 1955!)
8. Climbed a mountain (I love hiking in the mountains here at home & on vacations)
9. Held a praying mantis (I've always been fascinated by them, and used to collect them as a kid. Even now, I get excited about finding one in the yard.)
10. Sang a solo (at a high school performance, only a couple of lines of "Guantanamera". Still embarrassing, after all these years)
11. Bungee jumped
(no thanks, at this point, I don't think my heart could take it!)
12. Visited Paris (and loved EVERYTHING there--want to go back again so bad...)
13. Watched a lightning storm at sea
(no, but I have watched one from an airplane over Lake Michigan at night. Very surreal and quite beautiful.)
14. Taught yourself an art from scratch
15. Adopted a child
16. Had food poisoning
17. Walked to the top of the Statue of Liberty
(been there, but couldn't walk up to the top because of 9/11 security regulations)
18. Grown your own vegetables (do it every summer, but the critters always eat it all!)
19. Seen the Mona Lisa in France (it's much smaller than you expect it to be)
20. Slept on an overnight train (from Ogden to San Diego. Brian loved it, I hated it. Turned out I was pregnant, but didn't know it at the time. Couldn't figure out why I felt so nauseous on that trip!)
21. Had a pillow fight (best one ever was with my sister Jere & cousin Marsha)
22. Hitch hiked
23. Taken a sick day when you’re not ill
24. Built a snow fort
(no thanks --unlike Amy, I do NOT like winter. I barely tolerate it)

26. Gone skinny dipping
(why in the world haven't I???)

(wish I would 've when I was younger...maybe it's never too late to try?!)
28. Ridden in a gondola in Venice (SO romantic!!!)
29. Seen a total eclipse
30. Watched a sunrise or sunset (I never cease to be amazed while watching either one!)

(are you serious?! I've never made it past 1st base, quite literally)

(Jodie's been on enough to make up for me!)
33. Seen Niagara Falls in person
(planning to see it w/Mark & Vonya on a New York road trip, to include a tour of the Finger Lakes region)
34. Visited the birthplace of your ancestors
(haven't yet, but want to--they're located in France, Spain, Germany, England, Norway. I would love to do a trip to one of those countries with my kids and grandkids.)
35. Seen an Amish community (in Pennsylvania...a fascinating area, fun to see the horse-drawn buggies driving down the street and perfectly groomed farms. We spent the night in Intercourse, PA. Yes, that's really the name of the town!)
36. Taught yourself a new language (French, couresy of Michelle's CDs)
37. Had enough money to be truly satisfied
38. Seen the Leaning Tower of Pisa in person
39. Gone rock climbing

(An extended stay in Florence is high on my to do list. We drove past the city on the Euro train in Italy, but weren't able to stop & spend some time there.)
41. Sung karaoke (had great fun doing it just last week on Christmas Eve!)
42. Seen Old Faithful geyser erupt
43. Bought a stranger a meal at a restaurant
44. Visited Africa
(also on list of places to go before I die -- Out of Africa is one of my very favorite movies and the scenery is spectacular)
45. Walked on a beach by moonlight (it just doesn't get much better than that...)
46. Been transported in an ambulance (due to a little mishap driving into Dave Salas's house on Wintergardens Blvd; totalled by beloved little metallic blue VW bug) :(
47. Had your portrait painted (one of those cheap chalk drawings at Disneyland)
48. Gone deep sea fishing (a family outing in San Diego--almost everyone got sea sick!)
49. Seen the Sistine Chapel in person (absolutely incredible to really be there)
50. Been to the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris (the Eiffel Tower was much more intricate & beautiful than I had expected--very impressive, especially at night when it's lit up)
51. Gone scuba diving or snorkeling (I really enjoy snorkeling, and have always wanted to scuba dive. My sisters Nini and Joni scuba dive. I think I'll try snuba first and see how that goes. I have a strange fear of having my ear drums burst while I'm 30 feet under water!)

53. Played in the mud (Refer to #21 for same answer)
54. Gone to a drive-in theater (including via the trunk! Going to the drive-in was one of our favorite things growing up and there were many of them in San Diego)

67. Bounced a check (for $6 at a gas station in 1968, back in the dark ages)
68. Flown in a helicopter (in Kauai on a family vacation--totally awesome!)

70. Visited the Lincoln Memorial (everything in Washington, DC is incredible!)

72. Pieced a quilt (helped someone do it; haven't done one by myself--but I have crocheted a quilt by myself & I enjoyed it. Couldn't ever get the hang of knitting though)

76. Seen the Changing of the Guards in London (London is an amazing city, and going to Buckingham Palace is a must do, but the whole royal family thing is rather hard to swallow in my opinion)
77. Broken a bone (my wrist, after jumping out of the back of Carl Wade's pickup truck when I was 16)

81. Visited the Vatican (so neat to stand in St Peter's Square & see where the Pope addresses the crowd. Unfortunately we weren't able to see him--he was at the summer residence on the day we were there. Missed him by one day!)

We went to Marty & Nyla's house for the big game, and this is how they greeted us at the door! They were wearing the special 3-D glasses for the Sobe commercial. We had a great time with our wonderful friends, watched an exciting game, and enjoyed the delicious football food they prepared, especially the guacamole!
