Macabre Mansion

While hubby and I were in Syracuse, we stopped by the "Macabre Mansion". It's at someone's house, and they've completely decked out their entire yard with awesome Halloween decor. They don't charge people to visit -- but they do accept donations for the Food Bank. Very cool.

These pictures show just a portion of their front yard.....this is only about 1/4 of their total display!

Vampire Martini

Halloween Recipe for Vampire Martini

Everyone loves a martini (especially one that includes champagne!) and vampires are so hot right now that we wanted to combine the two in one delicious vampire martini recipe.

One of the more popular Halloween martinis, here's what you'll need for the Vampire Kiss Martini:

1 part Champagne
1 part vodka, chilled
1 part Chambord

Put wax teeth in the martini glass. Pour in the vodka, top it with champagne, then pour a little of the Chambord over the back of a spoon to make it float. Garnish the rim with candy corn or blood orange slices for a creepy Halloween effect.

Follow these instructions to create the blood red effect on the martini glass!

The Fall-tini

This is a hot new drink for warming up on cold wintry nights. Sounds like something I'd enjoy much better than hot apple cider in front of the fireplace! How can you go wrong with pomegranate & pineapple?? Yum.

Getting ready for Halloween...

Yay, Halloween is on a Saturday this year! I'm happy for all of the mamas out there who won't have to be rushing around getting costumes ready on a school day. I hope it won't be too cold for the cute little trick-or-treaters ~ if they have to wear coats, we can't see their costumes!!
