Notre Dame Game Party

Last Saturday, Matt & Michelle had a Notre Dame party to watch the opening game of football season. Melissa, Jim and Sean were in town from Las Vegas, and Eric and I were also there on vacation. Michelle's friends Stephanie and Mike and their kids, Madison and Gunner came over for the party too.
The party turned out great!! Everybody had a really fun day and the Irish won the game: 35-0. It was a total wipeout! So the good news is that they won; the bad news is that it made for a very boring game.
By the end of the second quarter, we had all jumped in the pool - including Gunner, who is only 5 month old!
And including both dogs, Kaya and Lilah!!!

Super Charger Halloween!

Finally.....a win!

Antonio Gates received a go-ahead, 48-yard pass from Phillip Rivers midway through the third quarter, to help the San Diego Chargers rally for a 33-25 win against the Tennessee Titans.  We're 4-3 now.

Yay!!!

SAN DIEGO (AP)—Some things never change in San Diego, such as the great weather and LaDainian Tomlinson and the San Diego Chargers beating the hapless Oakland Raiders.
Tomlinson scored twice, the first in the wildcat, and the Chargers won 24-16 on Sunday, their 13th straight victory against the Raiders. It’s the longest active NFL winning streak by one team over another.
The Chargers (4-3) have swept the series for the sixth straight season. Many Chargers, including quarterback Philip Rivers, have never lost to the Raiders (2-6). It was San Diego’s seventh straight home win against the Raiders.

Charge!!

Unfortunately, today's game is not being broadcast in the Salt Lake market.  I'm so bummed.  The Arizona Cards game that Michelle & Matt are attending today is also not on tv here.
However, the Broncos and the Packers games were shown...oh, what a surprise!

Chargers Breakdown: San Diego, which will be seeking its first back-to-back wins of the season today, snapped a two game skid last weekend by pounding the Chiefs 37-7 in Kansas City. The easy win improved to the Chargers to 3-3 overall and left them three games back of the Broncos in the AFC West standings. It is all but imperative that Phillip Rivers and company take care of business against the Raiders this afternoon with the Giants, Eagles, and Broncos coming up over the next three weeks. That should not be a problem, though, as the Chargers are 6-0 in their last six games against Oakland at Qualcomm.

Game Day Today!!

Matt & Michelle get to go to the Arizona Cardinals game today, and their seats are on Row 6!  I'm so excited for them -- I hope we'll get to see them on tv!!!

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY

We went to Marty & Nyla's house for the big game, and this is how they greeted us at the door! They were wearing the special 3-D glasses for the Sobe commercial. We had a great time with our wonderful friends, watched an exciting game, and enjoyed the delicious football food they prepared, especially the guacamole! (Gotta love firm avocados!)

CHARGE!!!

My beloved Chargers came through with a 17-6 win over the Titans today to win the first game in the playoffs! After a horrible first half that was as gloomy as the rainy skies in San Diego, they got fired up in the 3rd quarter. Now they're on to Indianapolis to play the Colts next Sunday. Their last meeting ended in a 23-21 victory for the Chargers against Peyton Manning & crew. Let's hope they do it again!
